Unless you know exactly how to word your claim, approval could be a long journey and even denied. So what can you do to help prepare for receiving these benefits? Here are some suggestions:
- Review your policy to assess the criteria and requirements used for approval of claims. Share this criteria with your healthcare providers.
- Make sure you answer the claim questions succinctly without embellishment.
- Review you medical records prior to claim submission. Does your doctor’s documentation accurately reflects your current condition and need for long term care.
- Keep a diary of your disease or injury including the assistance and care provided by professional caregivers, friends and family members.
